Service Policies
When we service your bicycle at Civic Bikes we use professional cycling tools and the highest quality greases and lubricants.
Existing customers (customers who have purchased bicycles from us) may request our exclusive 24-Hour “Express Turnaround” . There is no need to book nor is there an extra charge for this service. If we have the parts you need you’ll be able to ride again in 24 hours.
All our bicycles are assembled free of charge . Adult bicycles carry after sales service to the value of $300 and upwards. A service card is set up for you. In addition minor adjustments are carried out on the spot and free of charge.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT ALL BICYCLES FOR REPAIR OR SERVICE
- It is our policy that we will not perform selected repairs on bicycles and still leave them in an unroadworthy state.
- Bicycles older than ten years will only be accepted for repair if in excellent condition and approved by the proprietor. Labour charges will be based on time. Deposit will be required.
- Poorly maintained bicycles of any age will not be accepted for service or repair without proprietor discussion and approval. Labour charge will be based on time. Deposit will be required.
- Muddy, manured, and spider-webbed bikes will not be accepted (OH&S regs)
- Please note that an installation surcharge will apply if you wish to provide your own parts purchased from elsewhere. We will not perform repairs with department store parts.
- Department store bicycles will not be accepted for repair or service (lower end brands such as Huffy, Road King, Slazenger, Dunlop etc) We suggest you purchase from sellers who provide after sales service for their bicycles.
- Assembly of these bicycles does not include adjustments after the bicycle is worn in
Assemble or Reassemble Bicycle
If you are unable to obtain a correctly assembled bicycle from the place you purchased it, we recommend that you return it for a full refund and purchase a correctly assembled bicycle from us.
Our charges for bicycle assembly are as follows:
- Department store bicycle with no gears* $69.95 plus parts
- Department store geared bicycle* $99.95 plus parts
- Other geared bicycles not requiring custom or non-standard work $79.95 plus parts
- Dismantling and boxing bicycle securely for transporting from * $45.00
New Civic Bikes bicycle *Free – Included in bicycle purchase
