A bit of History
We have been trading since the 1980’s when well known Sydney cyclists Margaret and John McLachlan decided on a sea-change, left a thriving bike business in Stanmore and started up in Newcastle near Civic Station. And we’re all so pleased they did. Since then the shop has moved several times downtown to cater for growth and is now at Newcastle West. Sadly John died in 2004 and Margaret retired from full time work handing over the business to family friends Brian Birrell and Shaaron Moore. Margaret keeps her hand in by working on Saturdays. Her legs have never stopped!

The cycling and family traditions continue with our current staff including Derek Francis, a well known cyclist who has won a number of Vets championships. Leonie Woods is a qualified bike mechanic who happens to be Margaret and John McLachlan’s daughter so the cycling blood flows through her. Both Derek and Leonie run a great workshop and can also give you sound and practical advice on your next bike because simply they’ve “been there done that”.
